Deadwood Funds Projects Across South Dakota

Historic Preservation awards up to $250,000 each year for projects outside Deadwood and within the State of South Dakota. In order to receive a portion of this fund, candidates must apply through the Historic Preservation Commission and demonstrate that the project is related to Deadwood’s history. The City Commission assigns a committee to review all of the applications received by January 2nd. After reviewing the applications, the projects that qualify are then presented to the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission and the Deadwood City Commission for final authorization. Upon approval of each grant there is a check presentation at each project site.
